Stats: No Rating / DNF-ed books with and without explanation

I was trying to filter for books I've read but haven't rated yet, so I tried to go to Stats / Read Books / All Time / Star ratings and check the no rating column.

I found that 67 books are without rating-- but none of the listed books are read, they're all dnf-ed. From scrolling my read books I know that there are at least 2 read books without rating. Those don't show here.

I dnf-ed 90 books, and only 23 of them are without explanation, so I double checked: Stats for read but unrated books seem to count reviewed dnf-ed books only.

Or did I get the whole thing wrong and there are other ways to filter for read books without rating? 🫣

We don't have a "read but not rated filter" but you can get there from the ratings bar chart!

Nadia That's what I did when I stumbled upon the issue above.

Stats ➡️ Read Books ➡️ All Time ➡️ Star ratings ➡️ No rating bar chart does not show unrated read books, only dnf-ed books with written explanation.

mlleenteramin Oh, I'm sorry. You did say that. I think my brain overwrote that because of how the column works for me. I'll need to investigate this further because my one shows read books I've reviewed, but haven't added a star rating to, but I don't have any DNF books so that's where the oversight came from. There is no way to filter "read but not reviewed or rated" (right now the stats bar chart is "reviewed but not rated" [and a DNF explanation is essentially a review behind the scenes]) but one way to source the books for now is to go on to desktop, go to Read Books and search for "Add review". It's not ideal but a workaround if you need the info now.

P.S. There is already a post on here about filtering for books not yet rated but I can't find it just yet. When I do I'll merge this in.

Nadia No worries ^^ Thank you for the workaround, and let me know if I can provide any screen recordings or contribute in any other way.

(And please share your secret how not to dnf any books at all?! 🤯🤭)

mlleenteramin Hahaha, as I get older, perhaps I may start..but I think I'm such a completionist that my curiosity of finishing the book is what pushes me through. Also, I'm so behind on highly-recommended (to me, by friends/people I trust) books/backlist titles/books I've wanted to read for years, that my chance of picking up something that doesn't work for me is also reduced. Thank you for your patience and offer. I'm okay for now.
