I would love to be able to see a summary of the reviews, what are common things users pick out in the book, similarly to how the ai personalised recommendations work.

Isn't that exactly what the personalized recommendation already does? Isn't it based on reviews and other input by users?
I don't want my review to be summarized by an AI, no matter how little resources it uses up. It's my review. If people want to know what other people like/dislike about a book, they should read the reviews.
100000% please make it opt in, or a huge notice and ability to opt out when you visit the site.
If this feature is added, please let it be an opt-in feature rather than the default. Some users want to reduce/avoid engagement with AI.
