Allow correcting covers as part of wrong information form

The "report missing information" form does not allow to upload any images if a cover already exists, so there's no easy way to transfer the correct cover to the volunteer librarians.

As a workaround, sending a link seems to work, but it requires uploading the image somewhere first if it can't already be found online. (This may be a bigger issue for non-English books, since alternative language editions seem to often end up with very random assignments, sometimes not even corresponding to the right book.)

Make it easier to edit journal entry point for audio book

I have accidentally put down the wrong time for my audiobook progress but find it hard to edit the time once it’s been saved. When I then go in to my journal entries to find it it shows both last sitting and total amount of minutes. Would it be possible to add the same layout of h:min for total amount of time? And also make sure the ”last sitting” and the total time are connected so that the last sitting adjusts when the total time is changed and vice versa if needed?

display prompt notes when adding book to challenge

When I click on "add to reading challenge" on the book page and select a challenge, I can see the prompt descriptions, but not the notes.
There are a lot of challenges, especially themed challenges, where the creator will put the name/title of the prompt in the "description" field and the explanation or description in the "notes" field, here are some examples:
https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading_challenges/661aaef9-5b58-46d5-935e-934e8d2057ee
https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading_challenges/15d26056-a6e8-478c-80be-e2a37c5729cc

What I do right now is:
go to "add to reading challenge" --> click on challenge --> open prompt in new tab via "see prompt page" link --> go to new tab --> click on title of challenge --> browse challenge to find the prompt that fits --> go back to previous tab --> choose prompt, save book to challenge

Maybe most people don't match a book to challenge prompts after reading it, but I wish this were easier, because I don't want to click on every "see prompt page" link in a challenge until I find one that fits.

Add Pause Dates to Reading Journal

My main argument for why I would like this is so that I can go back and update/manipulate pause dates for books that take me a long time but that I repeatedly keep forgetting to “pause”, such as my textbooks. If pause periods showed in the Reading Journal then I could theoretically go in and edit the dates for the pause and make sure it’s reflecting correctly.

If there is an alternate way to do this, I’m all for that as well! I just want the ability to manipulate the dates Storygraph views a book as being “paused” and not counted.

Publish Buddy Read Updates in Reading Journal

I am not sure if anyone else has suggested something like this but I would love for updates (original posts) that I make on a buddy read to also appear in my reading journal. Currently I have to cross-post my ideas and I wish at least the unique, new posts I make on a buddy read would also be viewable as part of my reading journal.

Add multiple books per book club date.

I am in a book club where we read multiple books each month, so it would be nice to be able to add multiple books to one book club meeting.

track short stories without inflating stats

I want to add short stories and have the pages count, but I don't want each to count as a "book" and inflate my books read per year, etc.

Librarians to see list of tickets/actions they have completed

There is a list of every completed tickets that every libraian can see, however there is not a private list that only the librarian who completed the ticket can see. It would be nice to see everything you have changed.

Goal stats: X pages/day remain

I’d love to be able to see on the goals tab (or tap on them for another page or a popup) how much per {timeframe} I need to do to either catch up to current tracking or see what my average per {interval} is to hit my goal.

Example I have an 800 hour goal for audio and I’m 60.58 hours behind. There has to be calculation in there already to do this right? Why not work forward too and show that I have to average X hours per {timeframe} (daily/weekly/monthly) to make my goal? I keep doing this math myself and it’s more depressing doing the math than it is seeing how far behind I am.

Kids' book list

I'd love to have a way to track books for my kid, without those books feeding into my stats. Sort of like a sub-profile for my child.

Easy Add to Favorites

When reviewing the books read in a year, or based off the ratings, I wish the 3 little dots allows me to “add to favorites” so that I didn’t have to retype in the book on the favorites shelf page.

Almost like being able to say this is a favorite read and then being able to see all favorites on the favorites shelf page.

Select what page you start on

This is mainly an issue with digital books that I've seen, but could also be an issue omnibus.

When beginning a book, I'd love an option to choose that I started on page 30, for example. Otherwise I have to start on page 1, than skip 29 pages of cover, acknowledgements, table of contents, and other pre-ambles to get to the book, which then messes up the pages read stats because while I only read 10 pages, the tracking will say 40.

TBR List in Challenges?

I tend to do reading challenges that the goal is to pick books from your TBR for the prompt. It would be great if there’s an option to see your TBR right from the challenge page instead of having to flip between the challenge page and my profile page.

I know we can add books from our TBR to a challenge but I’d like to stay on the challenge page so I can look at other books people have added.

Covers on each day in calendar

Most of the other reading apps I use have a calendar feature that has the cover(s) of each book read each day. I'd love it if the Storygraph did this too rather than color coding!

Option to "hide" following/friend reviews on book page

Would it be possible to hide the star-reviews my friends have given a book on the book page under the "people you follow" section? I would really like for it only to be visible when you click "see all". Sometimes I don't want to be biased from the get-go by what the people I follow think of a book before I read it or consider it even. Thanks! :)

Differentiate "Volumes" from "Book"

I'll explain in a practical example: "War and Peace" is 1 book, but because it is such a large one, most publishers divide it into multiple volumes. I have the book in 4 volumes, and once read, my stats will say that I've read 4 books by Leo Tolstoy. It's not accurate, I've only read 1 book, it just so happens that it is divided in 4 physical volumes. I think we should be able to divide them in different volumes in storygraph (different ISBN, covers, page numbers, etc), but make them part of one single book, so the author stats (and other stats like moods/genres etc) are also correct.

Separate Reading List/Stats for Manga/Graphic Novels/Comics

I've been quite hesitant to track my manga/comic/graphic novel reading on SG since I don't want to drown out my goals for reading traditional novels by sheer volume (it's very easy to read multiple volumes of those three formats in a single day in comparison to a fully text novel) so it'd be nice if they could, possibly (if doable), have their own separate reading list, annual goals/streak, and/or stats page.

Or barring that if we could link a secondary account to our main account to view the stats of.

Make current reads into carousel

Current reads on the home page would be better as a carousel so that I can see more than just the most recently edited 3.

Custom Charts - Add multiple tags with prefix/suffix rules

I like categorising my tags with specific prefix/suffixes: e.g., for authors I track how old they were when they published the book (auth30s, auth40s, etc.).
It would be great if instead of adding the tags one by one, we can define a "rule" in custom graphs, so all current (and future!) tags with same prefix/suffix will be automatically added to the plot (e.g., auth*).

With this way, when I introduce a new tag in the future, I wouldn't need to adjust my custom graph.

Square Version of Cover/Ratings Collages

While the generated Summary wrap-up is available in both square and vertical formats, just split into multiple pages when converted to a square, it would be super neat to have the same for the Cover and Ratings Collages. It would make it easy to share to socials

Backup/Storygraph Import
Medium-term

I do not know what to call this but I want to be able to import a Storygraph backup file the same way you can do with Goodreads backup files.

I periodically save backups of all of my stuff and, if I were to ever lose access to my account, I could not imagine re-entering all of these books by hand. I am begging you to please make it an option for us to import from a Storygraph file backup.

Bookshop.org App Integration

Connect bookshop.org library so owned ebooks can be added to your SG library automatically and in-progress/completed reads can be added to your current and recent reads in SG automatically (or according to users' settings or preferences)

Stats on series pages

I would love more information or statistics on the series pages. Like, for example, the status of the series (ongoing, unfinished, finished etc.), year of first and latest part, authors and contributors (like illustrators for a comic), how many parts there are, original language, number of languages it's available in on TSG, which part has the highest/lowest score, average score for the whole series, how many users have read the series and so on. Would be really fun!

Reading History Page Access To All Editions Read

I would like to be able to have an easy way to access other editions of a book that I've read multiple times.

I am meticulous about the specific edition/format while tracking reading. It's not uncommon for me to read the digital edition first and a paperback/hardback edition on a reread, etc. Currently, when you click on the view/edit read history from a books main page, you'll see the total number of times you've read that book with years listed and then more specific dates for that particular edition (see photo attached).

It appears that the Reading History page is tied to individual edition Book ID. Would it be possible to either:
A) change the Reading History Page to be tied to the Book Family ID and have links to each edition tracked, or
B) have a link to other editions read on the individual Reading History page as it currently exists?

stat: average time to finish on book's page?

Some books take forever to finish, some you breeze through. Maybe it would be interesting to see the average length of time it took people to finish a book (in days) as a piece of info on the book's page? Could be a gateway stat for a summary stat showing which ones were super slow going for you compared to the average as well?
