Potential Bug: Progress Bar

The application does not let you edit the progress bar if you accidentally entered the wrong value. This morning when I was updating my read progress, I accidentally entered 68% instead of 60%, I tried to change it, but the system noted the new value had to be greater than the current value. The limitation appears to be a new/accidental feature. Previously, I was able to change the value By simply entering the revised percentage (then I would go into my reading journal and delete the incorrect entry). This morning, when the system wouldn’t let me change the value within currently reading, I went into my reading journal and tried to edit the entry hoping that the progress bar would update, but this did not work. If we enter the wrong value, how are we supposed to change the progress bar?

This isn't fixed for me. I've had this issue at least twice this month. It would also be helpful if my Currently Reading books always stayed in the same order so I wouldn't accidentally click the wrong one as often. I'm usually updating all my reading at the end of the day and when the books shift around as I enter the tracking it gets annoying.

Hi! We move it around so that the last updated is always at the top, so that if someone is focusing on one book out of the several they have in progress, that ends up staying at the top. We'll have to see if there's a better way to do it that works for both cases.

In this case it looks like you're getting that error because 'pages' is selected instead of 'percentage' on the right!

It's now fixed! So if you go in and edit your last entry to something incorrect, and then put it back to 60 (or whatever it needs to be), your progress bar will be correct again!

We put in that safeguard to prevent people from getting negative numbers of pages read, but you've highlighted an oversight that needs addressing. The safeguard is meant to guide people to edit their prior journal entries, as you have done, but then I need to update the 'latest pages/percentage tracked' on the read status itself. I'll do that now!

In the meantime, if you email in to support we can automatically edit the record for you so your progress bar matches your last journal entry.

Because of the way we automatically calculate pages read since your last update, deleting incorrect journal entries (without also editing 'pages read' and 'pages read in last sitting' in the new corrected one) led to people's page stats being incorrect and we got a lot of support tickets about it!
