I’ve noticed that since the update it’s not possible to switch editions of a book on the iOS app
Any time I go to the profile part of the app it just shows a white, blank screen.
Hey!
Love the new dark mode.
Some small “glitches” in it where white shows up on holding screens:
When you pull down on a page, the “background” behind the main page shows up as white
When you launch the app on your phone (eg for the first time in the day) the screen with the logo on it shows up in white, and the loading screen that follows is also white
When you move between pages - eg between profile page and home page - sometimes you get a loading screen flash up and it’s white too
Steps:
Result - The dropdown has white text on a white background.
Expected - The background of the dropdown is dark to match the theme
Notes:
My child and I both updated our reading journals to reflect what we read today, and both now say we read January 11, but today is January 10. Weird!
Many of my books imported from Goodreads that I have multiple tags under, especially those with multiple formats (audio, physical copy, and kindle) have been imposed as individual entries resulting in many repeated books. Some even having four or five duplications for the same book.
I tried to add Slovak edition to a book manually, but it created a new book, completely separate from the original.

Hi! I love how easy it is to add a book to a reading challenge. For the Onboarding Challenge in particular, many of the prompt require me to filter my TBR, recommendations, or all books. From that filtered list of a results, if I click on a book to check it out, decide I want to read it, and add it to my reading challenge, when I go back to the list to look for more books to add, it doesn’t keep my filters (or my place in the list) but reverts to the default.
The loading spinner when you pull down to refresh in the app is cut off by the iPhone Pro Max's notch at the top of the phone. I can't take a screenshot because they don't include the notch.
This is pretty minor, but my book collage is displaying kind of funny, probably because I have too many books.
On browser (Firefox) it starts at 8 columns across, but the eighth column is half off the screen. I get a scroll bar that lets me scroll right to bring it fully on screen. As I scroll down, the columns stop populating until there are four columns with a column space between them at the bottom.
On mobile (android app), It does the same thing, but with the four right columns off screen.
Screenshots attached!
The pie chart slices of my "Format" graph add up to 101%, probably due to whole number rounding. (ex. 24.6, 24.6, 50.8 -> 25, 25, 51) I'd like to see this edge case fixed so I don't end up with more than 100%.
Books with Pascal case (or camelcase) such as HellSans (https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/ee523633-678d-41bf-aa4e-e6ff01adc78b), are difficult to find, even when using the correct case. See screenshots for searches using all lowercase letters, only upper case for the first letter, and the correct case. Oddly, the only way I could find this book was by searching "HellSa".
Although I set my preferences to show all books without a format as digital, they are showing up in my stats as being without a format. This seems to be a new development.
the audiobook made tracking for the challenge is county how do you look for that on my profile I don't know if this is a bug or how you guys have set it up, but I believe it is a bug
Hi! When I am tracking my progress in a book, I use pages instead of percentage. In the past, when I've clicked into the "Track Progress" button to update, Storygraph will preserve my previous selection of pages (and I believe also showed the amount of pages I last tracked).
However, recently, it's been defaulting to % read each time (see screenshot), so I have to go through some extra clicks to select pages, then enter my progress each time. I definitely preferred the previous behavior, where I only had to make that selection once per book.
For troubleshooting- I am accessing Storygraph via the app on my Samsung Galaxy S22 (android) phone.
When trying to mark a book as read or currently reading, the expandable menu that we are supposed to click on is not keyboard accessible. I have to use the mouse click feature of my screen reader, which is not commonly known about, to get the options to show up. It would really improve usability and accessibility if this could be fixed.
I've noticed lately that accented characters are not rendered at all in the Description section of a book page. For example, if you look at https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/e412d9cf-d924-4334-beb2-ef428c729d48, you will see that there are names with spaces missing - often the accented vowels.
I'm not sure if this is happening for languages other than English.
Hello!
I'm encountering an issue with buddy read comments where when I add the page number for a comment it changes the page number (but remains the same percentage) when I publish the comment, which could lead to spoilers! For example, I just tried to leave a comment at page 274, which was 50%, but when I published it it changed the page number to 272 (still at 50%). I had to delete the comment because if my friend uncovers the comment at page 272 they would see a spoiler for two pages later. I also tried leaving the comment for page 275 (51%), but it changed to 278 (also 51%), so at that point my comment wouldn't make any sense when it was uncovered or they would have to flip back multiple pages to understand the context.
When I scroll through, for example, my To Read Pile, there is a certain point where it doesn't work properly. When I scroll, there will be books added, but I go back up to other books. Not sure I'm explaining it right, but you can probably see it when you go to that page.
Difficult to explain, so I added a screenshot. Note that total page count is 3500+, but Y-axis stops at 2000
Hey!
I’m not sure if this is a bug or if it’s something that needs to be changed. But I’d love to be able to see the translator’s name along with the author’s under the Currently Reading section on the home page
Hi,
I'm not sure how hard this is to add but it is very hard to navigate list of books as the scrolling and search filters reset when switching pages on mobile. I have to update books on computers as I filter on genre, click a book, update a rating (which needs at least two clicks to get there), and then I go back to the list and have to filter and scroll down all over again. Is there something to be done to upgrade this?
Have a good day,
Juliette
When adding comments on our buddy read, both my friend and I encountered the same weirdness. When making the comment, it (correctly) autofilled in 144 pages (34%), but when the comment was saved it says it's hidden until 35%, or 147 pages. Because what we're reading is a progressive release of an existing book, there's no way for us to just 'read a little more' or anything, so we're both unable to see each others comments until more of the text is released!
I'm trying to remove a book from a reading challenge prompt after I added it and it won't go away. I've hit the - button, refreshed the page, backed out of the reading challenge, re-added it to the prompt and removed it again, and it still shows up on the main reading challenge page and the "books you've added section" for that prompt.
Awhile back I remember you guys asking about "pain points" in user experience, and it occurred to me that there's something that tends to happen for me when I launch the mobile app on my iPhone.
I tend to have the app running in the background since I use it a lot, and I've noticed that usually when I reopen it after being away for a bit, I experience a loading issue. The loading circle usually shows up on the first page I see (wherever I left off, home page, profile, etc), and it doesn't go away. If I try to track progress on a book, it tends to not save in this situation. Typically, I get around this issue by immediately hitting one of the navigation tabs on the bottom toolbar to go to a new page. That's become something I just automatically do now to avoid loading issues or unsaved progress reports, book status changes, etc.
It's not the biggest issue, I know, but I thought I would reach out in case it's helpful or if you guys have any suggestions! I'm using an iPhone 13, if that's relevant.
