I've noticed a couple times that I'll have a streak going for a while, forget to log a day, then put in the next day and it still shows that I have a streak, just not colored in so it looks like I haven't logged for the day. The following day, it resets to zero, so I lose both my previous streak and a day of logged time.
If you share a link to a book in social media platforms or in places like Slack, you used to get a little preview of the book name and description powered by either Open Graph meta tags or Twitter meta tags. However, those appear to have stopped working, at least on Slack and Discord, in the past week, or so.
If I navigate to a book page (eg, https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/dba55989-00a4-4727-af2d-3745ca8c5d0d) in my browser and view the source, I still see the meta tags in the HTML source. However, nothing is showing up when I share links in Slack or Discord.
I'm wondering if maybe Cloudflare is perhaps blocking these services from accessing the pages. If I curl these URLs, I get a 403 Forbidden error that appears to come from Cloudflare, so I'm wondering if maybe other services like Slack are also receiving this. Various OpenGraph checking tools also report getting nothing back (https://opengraph.dev/panel?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.thestorygraph.com%2Fbooks%2F9fcaffe0-7f5b-48a8-96b4-6a741cfdeb23), although Facebook's Official debugger (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/) does return something, so maybe just Facebook's IPs are being allowed?
(The Facebook preview also includes an image preview, which hadn't seen before in Slack, but that would be exciting if that's now included!)
Thanks!
In many of the challenges I keep getting a "Content Missing" notice on many of the items in the challenge. I can refresh and sometimes it will load them, most times it will not.
After I finished a book and marked it read/logged the pages, I noticed that the line graph for 2025 year was not updating correctly.
The total under the graph title is correct but the chart is not reflecting the same information.
At first I thought I needed to give it time to catch up, and at one point it did update correctly. But then when I revisited it again a couple hours later it had reverted back to being incorrect again.
I’ve tried closing the app and refreshing the screen and cannot figure out what causes it to update correctly sometimes or why it reverts back to being incorrect other times.
for a few days, I have been encountering a weird bug where I'm unable to open some of my club's forums.
the message I get is the generic "We're sorry, something went wrong! 😔
Please try again later and email us at support@thestorygraph.com if the problem persists."
my account is a club member, not the owner.
the problem exists on pc in browser (firefox) and in the app.
I asked other users and they do not have the same problem.
I tried it with the club owner account and discovered this:
on my account, the post order is set to "descending". on the club owner account, it is "ascending" (because it keeps reverting back to that).
I can open the forum with the club owner account. it contains 3 pages of posts & replies.
if I try to change the post order to "descending" or try to go to page 2, I get the same bug.
these are the forums where I encountered the bug:

I can open and use all other forums of the club fine.
I love the Storygraph preview feature but I have noticed on a few different books that the preview will end by saying that the book doesn't have one of the triggers I have marked as wanting to avoid. But when I look at the warnings summary, they are in the Minor section. Not sure if this is just a phrasing issues but it is somewhat misleading. I have attached screenshots of an example
I have only seen this on this one particular book, but just wanted to let you know about it! It seems like it is incorporating a prompt instead of the info that is usually shown. This is on the SG Preview, not the personalized one.
Preview text:
Sing, Unburied, Sing is ideal for readers drawn to emotionally intense, lyrical narratives that explore family struggles, the lingering effects of historical trauma, and the complexities of identity in the rural American South.
Step-by-step explanation:
Identify key elements: The book's exploration of family dynamics, historical trauma, and identity.
Connect to reader preferences: Highlight emotional depth and appreciation for lyrical prose.
Avoid genre/mood restatement: Instead of mentioning genre, focus on the narrative's thematic and emotional resonance.

A lot of time when I open the app lately I get just a blank screen, sometimes other tabs will load, but often I have to close the app and start again. I checked for updates, none. iPhone 13 Pro on IOs 18.3.2
App for Android. With my preferred larger font size the grid gets misaligned when "Complete (DNF)" is broken into two lines. Works with smaller fonts where the entire "Complete (DNF)" fits.
In book-specific reading challenges, formatting for links, bullet/number lists, and quotes aren't displaying properly in the book notes/info box.
Tricky to explain, but the Up Next list order is messed up.
When I add a new book, it gets added in the second to last spot but has only the up arrow so you can't move it down to the last spot.
I first noticed this on desktop, then tried it on mobile and did not experience the same issue. However, on subsequent attempts on mobile, I did start experiencing the issue. Search sometimes requires you to add a trailing slash when you begin adding words to it in order to have it refresh the results, which is confusing as at first it seems like your search did not work.
Here's an example video I took on mobile showing it working correctly: Video link
And the desktop video showing the trailing slash bug: Video link
I'm attaching screenshots of when I experienced the bug on mobile in another attempt. I also sporadically get a random set of search results unrelated to the first word and that don't appear on desktop (and vice versa with desktop on mobile). I'm not really sure what causes this.
Steps to recreate
So we're trying to find Victim by Andrew Boryga.
We put some important links to StoryGraph sites (forums of the club) on our book club's "about" page and when I created the page they worked, but now they all lead to a "content missing" page.
I suspect it started with the update that changed the navigation.

Recently added some new editions for a couple books. When choosing genre I could pick from the list but when saving the completed entry the chosen genres aren't saved. The 1st time I thought it was my mistake but it happened twice after that. With those two I double checked the genre box that the entries were there before saving. Tapped save and they'd vanished.
Android version 9
Hi,
When I've added books to a challenge and then leave the challenge, the book detail page still shows me that I've added it to said challenge.
To remove the book, I have to rejoin the challenge, remove all the books I've added and then leave the challenge again.
I want to add an edition to a book manually as it can’t be imported by ISBN. When I try and do this on the mobile app and click on ‘choose file’ for the cover I can select the image I want but once I have chosen it I am sent to the top of the ‘add an edition’ form and when I scroll down no image has been selected.
I'm see an internal server error for all books that I've tried to get a personalised AI summary for. It was working yesterday (26 Jan in Australia) so I assume something has changed overnight.
I don’t know if this is a bug with the newest version or if this was on purpose, But can you please separate the two read section and recommendations section in separate containers or at least have a dividing Line. The books in both sections tends to blur together since they’re in the same container.
Since the latest Android update (1.20) the back button doesn't always work. For example: tap through from the home page to stats then books read then to an individual book's page and then tap the back button will take me back to the stats page but not to the home page. Previously the back button would work just like a web browser back button and go back to the previous "page". Now sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

In Book club forums, when clicking on "Reply" under a comment multiple times, it opens up multiple text boxes, and only one of them (picked at random) can be dismissed by clicking the "Cancel" button.
So.. I sometimes finish multiple books a day, and what happens in the calendar view is that I either only see a teeny tiny line of the second book, or 1/3rd of it if the other one has a square cover. (Example attached). I totally understand that you couldn’t fit 10 books in a square… but two might be nice… or some other solution where they are not awkwardly layered on top of each other?
I’m getting the number only keyboard when I try to update progress on audiobooks from the current reads page by clicking directly on the %age button . Because no colon is available, I then get an error when I try to input numbers only. I have to click on the title of the book instead and then update from there as the full keyboard is then available. (iOS app)
On the non-personalised similar books page, I often have the same book come up several (3-4) times in a row.
On the Android mobile app (not logged in), the margins around the homepage vanished today-ish, so the content is all pressing against the sides. See attachment.
Edited title as it's on the not logged in mobile view everywhere it seems. [Nadia, 22nd Jan 2025]
