Unspecified format not showing up correctly in stats

Although I set my preferences to show all books without a format as digital, they are showing up in my stats as being without a format. This seems to be a new development.

Are you talking about owned book stats perhaps? That's the only chart where we don't take the default status into account.
Nadia mainly. But then I checked the regular stats, and it seemed like the last few books I had entered as owned and either finished or to read were also lacking a status. I then went in and manually changed them to digital to fix the problem, so I can’t be exactly sure.
suewise With owned books I thought it'd be better for people to be incentivised to accurately mark the correct edition/update editions so that their library is accurate. Regarding other stats, let's keep an eye on it but I don't believe I've touched any code that should impact how default format works in other places.
