A way to add a nickname to friends would be great. I would like to add it next to their site name to make them easier to find. Thank you!

Yes, this! I have a lot of friends from various parts of my life and it's hard to match the screenname with the real live person behind it. If I could add a nickname (or even if people could choose to be identified by a name rather than username) then that would help a lot.
