I find it difficult to assign a number value to very different books. For example, I may thoroughly enjoy a light hearted fiction read but not think it’s the highest quality I’ve ever read. So it may be a 5 for enjoyment, but a 3 for quality. Likewise, I may read a mentally demanding nonfiction. It may be a 5 for importance, and a 5 for research and effort, but it may have also been too long and dense and maybe I struggled to get through it for various reasons. It would be awesome to add it a bunch more categories for rating on the 0-5 at .25 scale to more accurately rate a novel. I think this would help me better connect with new books, too.
