Add track progress button on homepage for book that doesn't have any progress updates yet
Mar 30, 2021
If you have marked a book as 'Currently Reading' but haven't created any updates for it yet, you have to click 'View All' in order to track progress for it. It would be nice to have a 'Track Proress' button on the homepage where the other books have the 'Edit' button. See the first book in the screenshot.

This would be super helpful! It's a bit frustrating (and confusing if you don't yet understand why it's not there) to have to go into the book's details page to do this.
Hi Ryan. Yes, I chose not to do it because some people don't use progress tracking at all, and so they will forever have the "Track progress" buttons there on the homepage, but will never click them. Therefore, it'll just be clutter for their view.
Maybe in the future, there can be a general "I use progress tracking or not" setting so that if you have it on, you'll see the button there.
Nadia Hi! I know I'm late to the party, but I'd like to suggest maybe adding this feature in but having an option to turn it off in the settings, for people who are bothered by the extra button? Because for those who use tracking it would save a lot of extra annoyance.
PS: surely even people who don't track their progress would like a convenient "mark as finished" button, no?
katyamuffin Yes, I mentioned a general setting in the comment you replied to! :-D
Hey Ryan! I believe this was a deliberate decision from Nadia, but definitely will keep in mind!
