Currently it's accepted behaviour to add a duplicate digital edition with a different page count in order to track it accurately according to user's device. This leads to multiple books in the family with 'user-added' tags that are not merged (according to the handbook) even if the book only has 1 official digital edition.
As a user it makes it confusing for me when selecting the right edition (I mostly read digital and don't track pages, but want to pick the right edition) as I need to check if more than one digital edition exists and which one I have.
I don't know the best way to do it as I understand that some people want to track their pages with the highest accuracy, but perhaps adding a hidden/personal page counter for the corresponding digital edition would work.
