"...do you have plans to make the buddy read feature available for an author to annotate/give thoughts/more background/behind the scenes that readers can then unlock through the buddy read feature as they get there?!"

I'd already thought of having a way for authors to add "annotations/notes" to their books but didn't think about them being hidden buddy-read style.

I don't think it should be part of a buddy read per-se but the concept of locked notes by the author, which you unlock as you get there I think could be super fun! And could also tie in well with actually buddy reads, readalongs, and book clubs.
