book cover tool tip

In views where the book covers are displayed smaller (reading challenges, profiles, "similar users" etc.) it's sometimes hard to recognize a book. I have to click through to the book page to see title & author, only to go back because I realize I already know the book and am not interested after all.
If would be helpful to have a tooltip in those views which displays book title & author in plain text when hovering over a cover.

I also miss this. Some covers are difficult to read, even when the image is big.
Sharing some thought on this:
An alternative to the tooltip suggested might be switch the image on mouse hover, by the placeholder you already use when there is no cover image (image attached). I know this suggestions won't work on mobile.
You could also add name and author under the cover image. Or maybe try cover on the left and title/author on the right. I know this would make it visually heavier but maybe could be something the user toggles on/off?
