I came looking for this suggestion! This is something that bothers me a lot because if I'm reading an edition that contains more than one book, finishing it should count as the number of books it includes and not as one book. It's extremely tedious work to find another version and try to approximate my progress, especially for kindle editions, although that's what I currently do to subvert this issue...
I would like this feature as well. There are multiple audiobooks in my to be read list that combine multiple novels and lack individual versions. Right now I can't think of a way to count that I've read the books without throwing off my data by adding the individual books as paperbacks and throwing off my page count data, creating pageless versions of the novels to track , or sacrificing my book count. None of these options are ideal. The ability to have a field that says is this an anthology/omnibus and how many volumes are included in the book would be ideal. More granular controls where the book could be divided would be nice as well but the simpler version would meet my needs.
This would also be helpful for audiobooks that have multiple books combined.
I like this idea and would be happy for it to be fairly high level i.e. not to worry about page counts of the individual books within, but just to be able to note that this book counts for 3 individual books. I'd be happy to enter this manually if there was an option to note it's an omnibus edition and then say how many books are within. (I feel cheated when my beautiful hardback edition of a complete series only counts one book and not 3!)
Logistically, would you expect that someone would have to go in and put the page numbers and time stamps for each sub-book? Trying to think how else stats would work.
