DNF challenge

This is perhaps a bit niche and feel free to remove/merge with other posts...

Each year I tell myself: you gotta stop reading books that don't make you happy and each year there's a few books that I am plodding though only because I feel I have to. I'd love to set myself a challenge to "DNF X number of books" for the year, and of course be able to track that using SG...

Don't know how difficult this would be to implement and how widely this would be used so may not get a lot of return on time invested, but just throwing it out there :)

Thank you so much for posting emvdw! I came here to request the same thing, as I'm in a similar boat. I keep pushing myself to finish books that don't make me happy and I would love to explicitly create "DNF X number of books" challenges for myself. I'd love it if StoryGraph could help incentivize me to try new things + listen to my needs in addition to rote completion.
If it's niche then I'm in the same niche with you. :)

I would love this! I just made a DNF prompt based challenge and when I added a couple of books to the challenge that I’ve already DNFd, the challenge says 0% completed. If the challenge can count DNFs as “finished” for challenge purposes, it would positively affirm my goal of reading books I love.

I love this idea!

This would be helpful when it comes to sub-genres and finding out what I love. For example, I love fantasy however, I am still learning what type of fantasy I enjoy and what I will stay away from in 2025.

Thanks for the suggestion! Let's see how many people resonate with it!

(Difficulty of implementation is never a blocker if it's what our users want/need.)
