Easier way to edit tags on mobile

I will admit, I probably overuse the tag system, but I love it. It is extremely difficult to edit tags on mobile, especially in a list instead of viewing one book. The pencil icon is SO tiny, and it’s so challenging to actually hit it. 80% of the time I accidentally click on an existing tag and then I lose my spot in my TBR. I just wish adding tags was a button that was more accessible and separate from the existing list of tags.

Can someone clarify what changed when this was shipped? The pencil icon does not seem any larger when looking at tags while scrolling through books in a list on mobile (TBR, recently read, search results, etc), and the issue of accidentally clicking on a tag rather than the pencil icon and then losing your spot in the list is still an issue. Nadia Is it possible for the pencil/edit icon to be a button slightly separated below the existing tags rather than at the end of the list of tags in order to prevent the accidental clicking and to give the edit button more clickable area?
jennaagricola The whole tag section is bigger and more spaced out. Unfortunately, I don't have an easily available before and after pic. When I first shipped it it was even bigger than it is now and we got a lot of complaints of people saying I'd made a blanket change that should have been an accessibility one. So I slightly adjusted the sizing and spacing down. This is the first complaint I'm hearing that it isn't easier to edit tags on mobile, but of course your feedback is noted and over time I will keep making improvements because there definitely still are some to make.

While you're tinkering with it: the tags drop-down on mobile often covers the Update button, and requires an extra tap to dismiss before you can hit Update. Small but irritating. And I often forget to tap Update, because I think my tap to dismiss the drop-down is the update
Yes this is a big issue for me as well! No matter how careful I try to be I often hit one of the tags instead of the pencil icon. And it can be frustrating if it's a tag that has a lot of books in it because then I need to wait for the app to load before I can hit the back button.

crispybaconator Sorry, there isn't! Hence why nothing from me since December 7th. We ran into a lot of unforeseen issues at the end of December.
