I would really love this too. One of the things I still miss from Goodreads is the "friend updates" / update feed idea: an easy way to keep up with what friends are currently reading, finishing, rating, reviewing, and adding to their shelves without having to manually check profiles or scroll through everything.

I understand the concern about adding more email, so I think this could also work as an in-app view: something like "What your friends have been up to", with a curated weekly or monthly digest/highlights view rather than every single activity item. It could surface things like books friends finished, highly rated, reviewed, started reading, or books multiple friends interacted with.

Now that notifications are live, another option could be an optional notification for this digest, controlled in settings: off by default or configurable for weekly/monthly in-app notifications.

Great idea! This email could also feature more information, like an update on current percentage completion of reading goals, new upcoming books from authors we like (or authors we follow if following authors becomes an option) and other features like perhaps including the story graph newsletter on the email so that it reaches more people! This would be an exciting way to bring the story graph experience outside of the app and website and keep us users reminded of our goals and community. Nadia are there any updates on this feature? (also thank you for making such an amazing platform I love storygraph more and more everyday :) )
