Filter books that count towards reading goals

I would love to be able to filter what contributes to my annual books/pages goal. I read a fair amount of graphic novels and manga, but personally I set my annual reading goals to challenge myself to read more text-heavy books (I could easily rack up books/pages read by reading graphic novels but I'm not sure I'd feel like I'd achieved my goal at the end of the year). Therefore, it'd be great to be able to uncheck graphic novels and manga from the genres that contribute to my goals.

I guess it may also help people to be able to exclude books by tags rather than just genre. For example, it might help people who are tracking their school/uni reading but only want books read for fun to count towards their reading goal.

oweran No update for now but I envisage there will be a feature available at some point to at least say "don't count this book towards my reading goal".

Seconding this! I'm reading a bunch of picture books to decide if I want to gift them to friends. I want to remember what they were and if I liked them, but I don't want them to count towards my reading goals so I've not been putting them in Storygraph.

Would love to be able to check a box that says "exclude from goal". Am undecided on whether that would also exclude them from stats. Do whatever's easiest?

^This! I read so many graphic novels these days for work, and it is really clogging my yearly book&page challenges not to mention stats. On the other hand I do want to keep track of them too, but my profile has become very graphic novel -heavy. Too much for my liking, as the novels get pretty much lost among them.

I'm glad you agree that this feature would be helpful!
