Add the “finished book“ verification message to the iPad app.

Admin update: The verification didn't exist on the action menu, only in the progress update menu. I'm now going to add it to the action menu (across all platforms) now! - Nadia

+1 on adding the verification basically everywhere the finished button can be pressed... With no way to undo this, it's a groan loudly out loud situation when you realize a split second too late that you've hit the finished button when you meant to hit view/edit journal entries 😩

It's been added to all platforms! Is it not showing up in your iPad app for some reason?

Nadia no it doesn’t show up but I’ll check if my app needs to be updated.

ebbookworm Can I check that we're talking about the same thing: the confirmation message when you click "mark as finished"? To be clear, on all platforms/devices, this only shows up when you click the progress update version, not the version in the action panel.

Nadia yes when I click the mark and finished button on my iPhone app. The verification message comes up, but when I click on the market as finished button on the iPad app, the verification message did not appear.

ebbookworm Ahh, this is what I meant by "To be clear, on all platforms/devices, this only shows up when you click the progress update version, not the version in the action panel." in a prior comment.

This isn't specific to the iPad app. The verification does not appear on that button on any platform as that's not the button people were having an issue accidentally clicking.

Perhaps it was accidentally clicked on your iPad the other day and maybe we should consider adding the confirmation there too!

The verification appears on the "mark as finished" button you see after you click on the progress update pencil.

Nadia i’m a little confused because that is the button I would accidentally press before you implemented the confirmation dialog box. When I press this exact button on my iPhone app the confirmation/verification dialog box comes up. Thankfully, I haven’t accidentally marked a book as finished (yet) on my iPad, but like I said, I’m confused because that thing exact button that when I press it on my iPhone the confirmation message comes up. Would you consider adding it to the iPad version or to this button since you said the confirmation is supposed to be for the other button?

ebbookworm Hello! I've added a screenshot to help. The first "mark as 'finished'" button (which I get after clicking the green pencil) is the one that most people kept accidentally clicking (when trying to add a note/do a progress update) and so we added the confirm dialog there!

The second one, in the action menu, does not have a confirmation dialog on any platform, and never has done. The iOS app is exactly the same for iPhone and iPad in any case — it's one codebase for both of them so there has never been any difference in their functionality.

We can certainly consider adding the confirmation there too, but it's not been a widespread problem thus far like the top one has been.
