Marked as "read" across editions?

I read books on my kindle and then I buy them if I love them. It kind of drives me bonkers that so many of my owned books, of which I have read, are listed as not read because I read a different edition. I understand the "you have read a different edition," but honestly the book is the same. Can these all be seen as read, but only the edition you select when you're reading it be used for stats?

Not all editions are the same. Sorry, this is one of the perks of Storygraph for me, especially because of audiobooks. I review multiple editions of books sometimes, there are epilogues added to print editions not found in kindle editions and vice versa sometimes. Audiobooks are totally different than "eyeball" books sometimes because of the narration. There are also different editions of audiobooks with different narrators that can be totally different in experience (Jim Dale vs Stephen Fry Harry Potter or Andy Serkis vs Rob Inglis LotR).

I would love this option too, I was in the process of setting up a large challenge for myself but it's useless without this functionality.

commenting to say that if something like this were implemented that I'd prefer it to be optional. I also sometimes purchase physical copies of books I read digitally and I like that the edition I read is the one that is marked as read. I would not like it if editions that I did not read were marked as read.

tina Yup, +1. The editions aren't the same to me, especially across audio vs print. I'll often read books in multiple formats and I like being able to review them separately and have accurate "read" info across them.

tina Yes, this is one of the perks to Storygraph for me vs goodreads because I read multiple editions of books all the time. I do all 3 formats of my favorites especially and different editions can be different.
