Right now the books are reviewed out of 5 stars. Although the users can give partial stars, it is actually hard to rank the books.

There are some alternative approaches, for instance the pairwise ranking (there are many tools available online). In essence, you compare 2 books at a time and indicate which one you prefer. You do this comparison many times, and you end up getting hopefully an unbiased list of ranked books.

What I usually do is at the end of a year is that I copy/paste the book titles I’ve finished to another app and do this comparison. I think having a version of this tool built in to StoryGraph could be nice (and ranked lists to be stored).

For instance, there can be two flavours:

• Ranking of read books of all time
• Ranking of read books of a specific year

You can even add some of the results to the end of the year wrap-up.
