Personalized previews that don't always tell me I'll love every book

I find the personalized previews feature to have a lot of potential, but as it is right now, I've stopped reading them, because they tend to all be fairly similar. They seem to think I will always like every book, and recommend I read them. I've tried to explicitly find books that don't sound interesting to me, and it will say "As a fan of X, Y, & Z, you likely be drawn to this..." where those three books seem utterly unrelated. It even does this in books I've read and given a 1.0 because I did not like them at all, and yet the preview tells me all the reasons I will like it.

It would be good to have some sort of configurability to how these are generated, or for them to be a bit more critical. I actually really want it to point out when a book likely isn't up my alley, rather than basically telling me why I'd like every book ever written.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll pass it on to Rob. This has been one of his main challenges with the feature! In some of the earliest iterations the system was too critical and we worried about closing you into a bubble of reading the same sort of books. We found that a more generally positive approach — telling you what you would like out of any given book — was preferred in our earliest testing. Even with a book you gave 1 star to, it was probably some combo of the genre, topics, or themes that made you choose it in the first place. And, there are now times when the Personalized Preview mildly cautions you against a book, say if we spot it contains themes or genres you don't typically read/have expressed you don't like.

Still, as with everything, we'll continue to iterate and make it better!
