Read date vs publication date

It seems like you can only view the read date vs publication date chart when you select your “all time” books - it would be great to see also this on the pages for the current year’s reading and possibly also under a specific tag too. It’d also be great to be able to interact a bit more with the chart. At the moment it just seems like dots that you can’t click into but would be great to check for example what was that book from 1790 that you read in 2017. I am trying to read classics across certain centuries for a challenge and at the moment can’t find a way to simply view books by publication date without setting up my own tag system.

I agree, was going to suggest the same thing!

Hello! We may add the ability to click through on that chart going forward, but I think we'd need to offer some other features, like the ability to zoom in, etc., beforehand. The library we're using didn't allow for customisation of the tooltip on hover either, so we've had to hide it for now. We left the hover animation on thinking it still added some life/engagement to the chart, but we might remove that in the meantime to avoid confusion.

In the meantime, there's a publication year filter on the Read Books and To-Read filter menus so you can still filter down to the classics you want!

Oh thank you I hadn’t spotted the publication year filter before but that sounds exactly what I was thinking of. Obviously we all love a chart, so looking forward to seeing how that might develop.
