Recent reads can affect recommendations

Have a checkbox option on the recommendation preferences page to include data from recent reads.

I'm imagining something like, if you have read lots of romance compared to other genres in the last 3 months, add romance to the genre list that the algorithm is using (if it's not already there). If you've rated horrors a lot lower than other genres recently, don't show so many horrors. And of course the same goes for the more specific micro features, not just genres.

I actually forgot that storygraph didn't already do something like this and so did a friend, I guess because we're so used to algorithms adapting based on our data everywhere else! It came up in discussion and this is what prompted me to make this request. Ofc it's good that it's not automatic, imo, because having the option to tell it what you want and only get those is great, but having the option to have it take into account recent months reading data would also be useful for many I think.

We do incorporate recent reads in the recommendations, it's just that the survey is the main driving force/influencer.

We're always tweaking how it works and are currently working on an iteration on our whole recommendations system which I reckon you'll appreciate based on this request.

Nadia wonderful, thanks very much! Yeah, it came up as a friend noted he'd been reading a lot of romance lately but there wasn't much in his recommendations, and adjusting his genre stated preferences changed it.
