Remove red/green from stats comparison
Oct 31, 2024
The monthly stats are awesome, but I really hate the "down =red" "up =green" of the "compared to last month" stats. It sends a very clear signal that reading less (or, fewer books, for the pedants) is bad, reading more is good. Offering at least the option to simply have the comparison offered neutrally, without the current traffic light judgment system would be an improvement.

Do we want the same colour or two different colours?
I think darker values of the same hue to represent "more" and lighter for "less" (i.e. more intensity of color corresponding to more of the thing being measured) could be a way of visually representing the same data in an intuitive but less value-laden way. (Also, as long as the selected values still have enough contrast with each other and the background, it would actually be more accessible than a red/green color scheme, which is a nice bonus!)
hearing_girl Yes, I think we'll be opting for different shades of our brand teal.
