Saved filters

I'd really like saved filters in the to-read pile. This is great for if you have a mood you're commonly in and would save you from having to check all the boxes/type in tag names every times.

We used to have this feature in one of the earliest versions of the app, back when we were in beta, but I shut it down because they weren't being used and the way I had implemented it back then was a pain to maintain! :-D
Would love this! Especially when dealing with different genres, media type, moods ect. With so much we can filter by, would love to SAVE those filters.
I would LOVE if this feature was reimplemented!
Every time I go into a bookstore I want to look at the books in my To Read pile that I have tagged with the tag 'wishlist'. These are the books I am looking for. Please give us the ability to make a shortcut to custom tagged lists so I don't have to do the multistep filter which is overly complicated covering every single element most of which I don't use. Please :-)
I’d love the ability to create saved searches that comprise of multiple filters, tags, etc. so that if it’s something I frequently organize my TBR by I can easily just tap on it without manually adding all of the filters every time.
Also, it would be super helpful if I could click on a book, change the edition of the book on my TBR, add tags, and then go back to my TBR list without it refreshing and removing all of my filters and scrolling all the way back up to the top. When I’m going through my TBR that I quick added to tag a bunch of books this makes it take so much longer. (not sure if this should got in a separate ticket but it is relevant to my use case so I’m including it here for context.
Example Use Case for all of the above: I tag all the books on my TBR with where they’re available to me (Libby-Audio, Libby-Ebook, Kindle Unlimited, Audible-Plus, etc.). So when I sit down to update my TBR I want to filter the list to just the ones I haven’t tagged with availability tags yet so I filter to exclude my whole list of 12 tags related to availability and then review my list. Then I click on the first result to change it from the print edition to the audiobook edition and tag that it’s available on Libby, and then I go back to my TBR and it refreshes and I have to re-enter all of my tag filters.
I can understand how saved searches / filters would be difficult to maintain when updating the app features, but I would be fine even if I had to manually recreate my saved searches every couple months when the app updates given how much time it would save me day to day when managing my TBR.
Bouncing this! I’d really like it.
Adding under this same request - but can create separately if preferred Nadia I like the saved filter option, but if that is more difficult to implement, is a another option to be able to build a search of my TBR list, then save the final search results. It could be a static list - not updating as my TBR changes. And then from that list I could "delete" things - just removing them from the static list (not the TBR)
The example that came to mind is that I was building an October TBR of all the Horror books I own but haven't read. From that I created my October TBR. I had to go through that search result and type everything again into a separate document that I can reference as the month goes on. It would be nice to just go to my saved list. :)
The alternate, alternate option... would be (maybe) the easiest? The ability to export my search results into excel. Then at least I have my spreadsheet without having to type everything. Thanks for reading!
cajengirl Thank you for this! This should be a separate ticket as it's a different idea/feature really (and only add it if it's something you'd want in addition to saved filters)! We don't discount features because there's an easier alternative. We focus on doing the best for our users, no matter how complex. And if you you write out this feature, please write it how your ideal version would work, not incorporating any compromises. :-D
With this particular suggestion though, any reason why you didn't make a custom tag called "october-tbr"? Instead of going down the search results and adding each book, you would have added the tag, and then you could filter your TBR list down to that!
Nadia good idea about the tag! But... Now I need to search to see if there is a feature request of "add tag to all" on search result. Or the ability to select multiple and add tag. 😊
I will think about my request and decide if I want to crest a separate request or not.
cajengirl Brilliant! We actually don't have it on the roadmap yet, but bulk add/update/edit is functionality I've been talking about bringing to the app for a long time! 😅

Nadia Ha, I came back to search for this and apparently I'd already commented on this thread! This would be huge for me. Or it would be great if I could at least copy/paste a list of tags. It drives me a little crazy to have to type out each individual tag when it's the same search every time.
I like this! Maybe also a default button that lets you filter for your most common type of books? Like what gets put on your profile (Mainly reads...)
