Search by tags | Requests/Ideas

It could be useful to be able to search for books based on if they have certain tags. Everyone has their own way of tagging books but if I want to find a time travel romance, I’d probably be more likely to find ones if I can use the romance genre and search for books that have a time travel tag.

Yes! I am a children's librarian and would love to replace Goodreads with my The Storygraph when searching for books for middle grade readers by tag! Right now though I have to alter my own preferences in SG in order to do that which then skews my recommendations. So, currently I use Goodreads to search for things by genre or subject at work, but I hate supporting them with views, even if I don't have an account with them. You guys do an incredible job!! I have gotten many friends and family members to switch to you, but would love to see search by tags considered in the future. Thank you for all you do!! -Valerie Keller (she/he/they)

When we make our new version of 'public' tags, we may have a way to browse which books have been tagged in a certain way by other users.

In the meantime, best option is to put things like 'time travel', and any other related terms, in your reading preferences survey, and then use the filter menu to restrict suggestions to Romance.
