This would be a cool native functionality, but I have a suggestion as well: I use tags for all my challenges (and other features) so that I can get those stats. For example, I'm doing a reading randomizer challenge this year, so I have a tag for the overall challenge, as well as tags for the books I've committed to reading in particular months. It does mean a lot of tag management, but it's worked out really well for me!
