Specific Date added for TBR books

I generally try to work through my TBR from oldest to newest, so I'm very often sorting it by the Date Added option. Sometimes I find myself feeling like I just added a book but I guess it's been a year or so. I can kind of contextualize it based on the books before and after, but if possible I think it could be cool to show a date for when exactly I added the book to my list. Even if it's just listed in the reading journal. I kind of like to see the time it took me from being interested in it to when actually started reading it.

(Although I know this can make some people feel guilty/bad about how long they take...it doesn't have to be in an obvious spot but it would be nice if it were available!)

Thank you for the suggestion! We do store the date added in the backend so I imagine we'll eventually display it in the app!

I was searching for feature and hope its something for 2025.

I'd also like to suggest being able to edit the dates. Similar to if we need to correct reading journal.
I didn't realize there was a switch to this edition and have been removing/re-adding once I know which specific one. I have a terrible memory so I'll probably forget in the future lol. Others may not realize its there so could help those who may not know.

I would love to be able to both see and edit the date! Sometimes I realize that I forgot to add a book to storygraph when I bought it, so it shows as being super recent even though I've actually had it for a few years.

I really need, I'm doing a challenge at the moment and the books had to have been on your tbr for more than 60 days.
They use goodreads but I haven't updated that list since 2022 so most of the books aren't on there and I can't use storygraph because there's no date or year of when I added them.

So I kind of have a bunch of books that I'm mostly no longer interested in or are really long for a challenge that I need to read 20 books.

ttwyman Just realised that if you do a StoryGraph export you can get your date added to library!

I would love to see more developments on this front in 2024 if you have any availability! I have seen some great Custom charts where users have added tags tracking how long a book is on their TBR before they pick it up. It could be a calculation like Date started reading - Date added and tracked like an additional chart?

This would be a great adition I was actually looking for what the dates were when I added my books to my owned list but sadly couldn't find it at this moment.

invisibleperson Sorry. I do store it in the backend. Just haven't exposed it yet. Should hopefully do so in 2024 at some point.

Coming here to bump this suggestion as it would be so helpful to see when I added a book on my TBR. Thanks!

+1 on this, I just started reading a book I'm really enjoying, and I wanted to look back in my TBR for when I added it to see if other books added around that date would give me any context clues for where I found this book. I soon learned that since I flipped it over to "reading" there was no way to recover that context. I'd love to have the date added to TBR in the reading journal, and having some kind of date markers visible while scrolling the TBR (or date filters) would be a really cool nice-to-have as well.

Bumping this! I know I've got books that have been on my tbr for years with a kind of "eh, maybe someday I'll be in the mood?" and I'd like to be able to see when I added them to help draw a line of "this has been on your tbr for 10 years, just accept that you're not going to read it." For now, I can tag something with when I add it to my tbr, but that's going to get unwieldy pretty quickly.

Just here to upvote this! As I am finishing up my first full year with TSG, I am thinking about how I am going to track my TBR this coming year. I would love to be able to filter by the date added range so I could see things I added this year separately.

I’d love this! It would be nice to also have it in the area where our journal entries are. It shows when you started reading but it would be nice to show when it was first added to your TBR.

I would love this! This feature is one of the top features I used in Goodreads. I also prioritize my TBR by date added.
