Similar to the recommendations, but a bit more dynamically on-demand. In the gaming app Steam, it's possible to go through a suggested list of Games, based on previous preferences and some adjustments such as popularity of a game and maybe its release date.

It's interesting because when unsure if to go for something from the to-read list, or something from standard recommendations, the possibility to just browse through a randomized list of suggestions that might match the interests of the reader. It would also help with discovering more new authors and new books, since the most popular books (while super cool as a feature) don't necessarily show the latest releases, and the recommendations don't seem to refresh on a regular basis to take into account newly read books and rating trends for them.

Thank you for the idea! I'm curious if you've tried out the Advanced Recommendations Search feature and what you make of it? We do have more improvements planned for recs in general, including a better way to provide feedback and tweak them more dynamically, but some of the existing sections — like "Based on recent reads" – do update as you read!

Nadia Hey Nadia, I have looked at it a few times, but I find that the recommendations pushed my way are typically not very well-rated and when I go through the reviews, I don't frequently find anything to make them more appealing. I like the idea of the changing recommendations, but I'm not sure if it's because I read a lot of niche trashy stuff, or because I'm too picky, but I just haven't clicked with the section.

I suppose it could be in part because it also takes into account things I've read that I didn't actually enjoy? I don't like to DNF books because they won't show up in my read statistics, so perhaps that's part of it. But I do rate them low, and use a specific tag to separate them from my standard books.

What I strongly appreciate about the section is that it always recommends first books in a series, or standalones, which makes it very nice for discovery.

P.S. You should check out the first recommendations section on mobile, and compare how that moves vs the second section. Not sure if it's a bug, but it behaves funny.
