The genres chart has always kind of just felt cluttered to me. Especially if there are like 10 categories where I have only read one book from. There are, also, a lot of arbitrary distinctions, for instance, between tabs like autobiography vs memoir or self-help vs psychology
It’s a bit of a bother to have to search between different tabs, especially on the app, just to find the exact genre-labeling of the book I’ve read, or map out how many self-improvement books I’ve read.
Maybe group certain tabs together based on very general genre and then allow users to choose increasingly more specific subgenres from there to avoid clutter. Or just combine certain tabs
It would also be nice to be able to look at more specific subgenres, even in using the search functionality to find new reads. For instance, being able to search for specifically Urban Fantasy books.
Second this. I would make a main genre and than subgenres.
Also adding to this: it would be great if we had a seperate category for the ages. Middle grade is not a genre, but it is in my stats. It would be handy to have that as a different part next to genres and moods.
