It would be nice to have a fun community centered feature similar to the GoodReads Choice Awards (but that tries to be better).

The nominees could be based on data from TSG itself, such as “most marked as read” and “most highly rated” for the year.
On December, users would be able to vote on each category/genre, but only if at least one nominated book from each category has been tagged as read by them (this should prevent users from voting randomly without being too strict about who can really vote - in fact one could still mark a book as read and vote anyway).
And the winners of the year could be displayed on the home page during the following month as a suggestion tbr list for the January Reading Challenge (the streak one).
