Update broken streak to 0 or 1 faster

I casually like to maintain a streak but am not too worried when I lose it. It is frustrating however to have to wait a full extra day after a missed day for it to acknowledge that I’m at 0 or 1. I understand folks who miss entering in data don’t want to be shocked by a 0, but I would prefer the streak count on the homepage be accurate to the data it has at the time. There can still be that big box for “Previous period incomplete” on the streak page. But having to wait a full extra day to see my streak decrease makes it feel like a bigger deal than it is.

The flame not being lit up is meant to be the indicator that your streak will soon be at 0. Based on your usage, do you see a grey flame, as opposed to an orange one, the day before it then goes to 0?

Nadia Yes, I see the gray flame with the current streak the day I miss, that’s fine. The part that confuses me is that it lasts a full day after that instead of going to 0 after the missed day. Is there a reason for that? For example I missed reading Sunday but all of Monday it still had a gray 28. This morning it had finally reset to 0, then I had to recalculate to get it to 1 from my reading Monday. I just don’t get the day of limbo in between.

nanatalie_bh Oh yes, I see what you're saying! Hmm, when I first created it, I thought it'd better reflect the fact that you still have time to correct it...but even if I think of time when people didn't realise the previous period wasn't complete...the faster feedback would likely be more helpful.
