Upvoting books added to challenge prompts

I often try to use challenges to diversify my reading. If I come across a prompt and can't think of a book to fulfil it, I'll browse the books other users have added for some inspiration. My problem is that sometimes I find that many of the books don't actually fit the prompt (ie. the prompt may ask for a contemporary novel from a female author, but the books added include classics, or novels translated from Arabic could include novels that were originally written and published in English).

Obviously no one has the time to go through and check the relevance of all books to their prompts, and I understand that not everyone will care so much that the books they're adding to challenges fit the prompts perfectly, but I think some sort of upvoting could help people who are browsing (like a thumbs up if you think a book is a good match for the prompt). Or maybe ordering the books by the number of people who've added it to that prompt.

Hello! We do hope that challenge hosts take the time to curate their challenge prompt pages, especially if they are making them public on the app. We've got the basic feature available to do so and we have ways in the pipeline to improve the feature's visibility and make it easier to keep the prompt pages accurate, including allowing challenge participants to flag books to hosts.

I like these ideas though as additional ways to improve relevancy and help people find great books!

Hi Nadia, thank you so much for your response!

It's great to hear that hosts are able to curate their prompt pages - I haven't hosted before so didn't know that was an option - but understandable that hosts might not all keep on top of it, particularly if their challenge is very popular.

The changes in the pipeline sound like they will help with this issue a lot! Thanks for always striving to improve The StoryGraph and valuing user feedback 😊
