User-Generated Page Total for Tracking

Especially now that page tracking has become more common in the app, it would be helpful if there were a way for users to input the total pages in books they are currently reading.

For example, once a user marks a book Currently Reading, there could be a place to enter the total pages in their copy of the book and this would be used to calculate their reading progress instead of the main page number from the publisher. So, say if a book officially had 400 pages but the story really ends on page 367, the user can put this number in so that once they reach that point it will show 100% instead of 92% and not add the remaining 33 pages to their pages chart once the book is marked Read.

I am imagining this could go somewhere in the page tracking feature area. This would not change the publicly displayed page count but rather be an optional data input from users that would only affect their personal tracking. That way users can customize their page tracking experience to more accurately reflect their progress by simply entering the total pages once at the beginning without having to manually edit journal entries or do the math every single time they track pages. Might also help cut down on book tickets haha.

I feel like this would also be helpful in making the percentages more accurate for Buddy Reads! I'm doing one right now where the printed edition my friend is reading has wildly different percentages than the audiobook, and I bet if she had been able to put in the actual number of pages, our percentages might be much closer together.

Yes! This is another reason why I suggested this! I just finished up a buddy read where two of us had the same print copy but one of us had the ebook. The difference in our percentages made it hard to really line up our comments. Most of the time, it would lock comments for me that were actually two or three chapters ago in my edition, which was a major gap considering they were long chapters haha.
