Long To-Read Pile Crashing
P

To be fair, my to-read pile is excessive at over 1400 titles. I have problems with scrolling through all the options. The page eventually gets sluggish then crashes or stops responding.
Filtering is great, but sometimes I can't filter for the type of book I'm looking for (e.g., a book with a purple cover, or when I want to see which authors have 3+ books on my TBR pile), so I have to resort to scrolling through all my options. I can never get to the middle of my list.

Upvoting this because the one year anniversary of the OP is nearly here and the problem (which I've also logged bugs for with numbers half this size) definitely persists
This happens to me too every time and my to read is less than 500.
That shouldn't be happening! 1400 is not excessive at all! I have a todo to look at the performance of super long lists. I wanted to look at it some time this year. If not, should be early next year. I'm sorry!
One trick you can do is to toggle the pages via the URL if you're on desktop or your mobile browser. Add in "?page=x" at the end of the URL, where 'x' is the page number you want to access. There are 10 books per page.
Nadia Thanks, I appreciate both the hack and your responsiveness!
Nadia This is great but doesn't help when the list is filtered since it doesn't generate a new URL. My TBR is 3k and when I was trying to do this years Onboarding challenge the alphabetical list was crashing at the letter right before the one for my first name (~1/3 through). I can filter out my personal tag for books I don't have access to as a work around but it was disappointing!
f18 Thank you for letting me know and I'm sorry for this experience. Just to check: You've since been able to get to the books starting with your first name's letter (with the workaround or some other means), and you're separately pointing out that you can't paginate a filtered list?
Nadia Yes, that's correct. I tried the pagination before and after filtering the list but they both reverted back to the default.
