Read all about the updates in our Changelog post!
Yesss this is exciting! Thank you guys for all your hard work!
This is probably the best feature to be adding next. I love to listen to Audiobooks and being able to accurately track my audiobook stats is going to take this platform a step above anything else that exists right now.
You guys are doing a great job developing a unique book tracking platform with all the bells and whistles. Thanks for considering the feedback from your userbase. This really cool kind of public collaboration on ideas and community interest makes storygraph truly one of a kind. Thank you!
drusjella Thank you for this lovely comment! We're excited to get these updates out. :-D
I'm so excited for this! I love my audiobooks, but there are a few that don't have a page number equivalent and don't count towards my pages goal. Can't wait for the update, thank you for your hard work!
Now that's exciting! Thank you for the hard work @Nadia
Nadia, I have never opened an email faster!!
So exciting!!!
So cool! I've been tracking them as "pages" and then switching the edition to audio once I'm done!
This would be a great feature. I don't like the workaround of having to change formats because I like my stats to be accurate. Even though it looks like I didn't read on some days it'll hopefully be useful once this feature is implemented and there are stats for audiobooks.
You can change it back to an audiobook after the book is marked as 'read'. That way you'll have the pages tracked but still have the audio format in your stats.
yeah but when you eventually ship this feature to count audiobook hours is it going to double count? So count the pages and the hours, or is it not going to count as audiobook hours? That's where I'm concerned. I don't want to mess up my stats if the feature is something you're planning to implement in the future.
This is part of what we need to figure out. There are many factors we need to take into account to ensure that people's stats aren't messed up and the transition is seamless! One of the tricky things is that some people don't even want hours listened to for audiobooks, they want everything tracked as pages. We'll be doing a lot of planning and speaking to the community before anything is implemented.
thank you for this response Nadia! i'll start tracking my audiobooks as pages for now then and wait for more news about audiobooks. i appreciate that you guys care so much about what your userbase thinks. i know you're a really small team and your dedication to creating something everyone loves is not unnoticed. thank you!
Yes! Or at the very least, when you log % read each day of an audio book have it count in the daily reading tracker!!! It's really discouraging how it just says "0" on days I logged but only listened to an audiobook
To have pages tracked with audiobooks is possible, though you have to do some extra work. You can either track a print or digital edition, and then after the book is marked as read, switch to audio, or you can edit the generated journal entries to include pages. Simplest is probably tracking an edition with pages and then switching afterwards.
I would love this feature!
Is it possible once you have read a book, to change the format that you consumed it, so for instance the default seems to be physical reading, but can you easily change that in the book to be audiobook or digital or do you have to change the actual edition you read? It would be nice to have a drop down menu letting you indicate which format you read the book in right on the main title landing page.
Right now, you have to switch the actual edition!
I would really like this. I exclusively listen to audiobooks but a lot of the time there is not an audiobook edition entered (or the cover art is super weird.) So I would love to be able to manually change the format.
Can't wait for this feature! Trying to add a lot of audiobooks into my reading habits this year.
I was just thinking about this. Would be fab!!
From @aShipOntheWave on Twitter: "Have you considered adding hours listen to the Number of books and pages graph so audiobooks would be represented on it?"

This would be a fabulous feature to compliment the āpages readā stat! Iām pretty nitpickey about having my formats correct, but it makes me sad that on the days I just listen to audiobooks, it doesnāt look like I read at all!š¤£
Same! My format tracking is an absolute mess because seeing how many pages I've read day to day is more important to me than counting the right format, but it makes me sad! It would be really great to be able to pick, or to somehow have pages read in audiobook count towards those stats.
This is possible at the moment, though you have to do some extra work. You can either track a print or digital edition, and then after the book is marked as read, switch to audio, or you can edit the generated journal entries to include pages. Simplest is probably tracking an edition with pages and then switching afterwards.
I'm just now seeing this, so apologies for the later response, but doing this doesn't then take away those pages read? So i.e. I'm listening to So This Is Christmas. If i track it as a digital or print while I'm reading it, and then once I finish and mark as read, I can switch it to audio at that point and it will keep my pages read stat with those included? This is actually really helpful if that's the case.
Yes, it won't take away the pages marked, which show up in the pages total and the pages line graph, but the pages pie chart (<300 pages, 300-499, etc.) might be affected.
I'm listening to more and more audiobooks, it'd be amazing to have those stats :)
This would be awesome because audible changed their app to where you canāt figure out your percentage finished now.
I'm not sure what changed, but I figure out my percentage finished manually... š„“ I calculate the total minutes of the book, and then the total time remaining, and divide to get the percentage remaining. Was there a different way to get that percentage previously?
In the past you could tap the share button and then open a text message or something similar and it would say āIām X% done with ātitlleā and then a url to the book on the audible siteā
HI @caropi! Best best for now then regardless of what we end up doing is to choose a print edition with the pages you want and then add your own custom 'audio' tag!
I do not like this audio option. For my audiobooks I want to also count them as page number (at least an approx).
this would be an amazing addition!
Would love to see this! I like to track what I read as physical copies and what I listen to.
This would be amazing. I listen to more audiobooks than I read physical books so having an hours listened stat would be so cool.
