Save/Follow Public Tags/Lists

It would be great if there were a way to save and/or follow other people's public tags! I have public booklists that I share with others and they want to be able to save them to their TSG profile.

This is something that's been on our todo list for a while.
We're going to add a further privacy level on top of tags: private, visible with link (which is what the current public level is), and public.
Public tags will be viewable from a user's profile and then you'll be able to save/follow them.
We'll default all current public tags to be visible with link.
A tangentially related question, Nadia (sorry, skudiklier!): I always find it super weird to be browsing other people’s lists of 5-star books and see my tags there. I do understand that TSG just displays my tags everywhere, but if you’re planning to change tags’ privacy levels, would that behaviour change as well? Or would we only see tags in other users’ profiles, never their books?
Similar to your own read status, we always thought it was a case of seeing the book in your own context in relation to someone else's. Oh look, there's that book that's on my 'fave' list, or this was recommended to me by that podcast, etc.
I was about to say I've only had one other person bring this up with me so far, and then I realised that person was you! 😆 😅
That's not to say these things won't develop over time, especially as I do more UX research and the product gets more customisable, but that change won't be tied in to this one.
