I would really like a List Feature, where people can curate book lists that are shareable to both other users, and to other social media sites. I don't think the tag feature is the same. For example, I had a list idea for Picture Books Featuring Black Mermaids that would be great for parents/kids who are excited about the new Little Mermaid movie. They might be tagged as picture books or books with BIPOC characters. But a List would be for something more narrow. Users could search for user-generated lists, and it would be so easy for things like Book Awards, Sugarpop Reading Challenge, Oprah Book Club, ect to all be in one place, as well as specific ones. Storygraph Librarian-created lists could be featured on the homepage instead of general Recommendations. The option for the curator to annotate and for Storygraph Users to turn the the curator's list into their own tag. So a user could just go through and add books they're interested in one-by-one to their "to-read" page or just accept the whole list as a tag like let's say I wanted to remember someone else's list I could save it as a tag. User thiccarus made a list for trans horror novels coming out in 2023 with the title Trans Horror 2023. I, userbookin could save it as a tag thiccarus: Trans Horror 2023
Have you created lists already with custom tags? Because that's the way to make lists.
Here's a tweet explaining it some more: https://twitter.com/thestorygraph/status/1559988960239173632?s=20
You can add a list title and share the page with people, even those that don't have a StoryGraph account.
Even though lists are currently created via tags, we will be enhancing list functionality, including being able to order them, add notes/descriptions, save/follow them, etc. I'm merging this post into the save/follow card.
